Our Story
Pulso Azul was created to reflect the expanding mission of Osa Ecology which was founded in 2016. As our impact grew beyond the Osa Peninsula, we needed a name that captured the broader pulse of life beneath the surface. Today, Pulso Azul represents a unified heartbeat for ocean protection across Costa Rica.
Mission
To protect and restore marine life in Costa Rica through community-led conservation, scientific research, and education.
Vision
A thriving ocean where whales sing freely, turtles feed safely, and coral reefs pulse with life.
The 5 ways we make an impact:
- Promote awareness of unique biodiversity found in the Golfo Dulce
- Provide environmental education opportunities to local community and international visitors and volunteers
- Build relationships and foster collaboration with governmental entities and similar interest groups
- Collect data on key species that is quantifiable, qualitative, and scalable
- Leverage findings to support and enhance current protection levels, potentially influencing related legislation
